The rear door on my 2002 Passat estate won't lock or unlock with Central locking, but locks fine with handle. My regular garage looked today (cos it has been irritating me and qoted just under £200!!

Any suggestions? Apparently the solonoid is prob gone but comes as big sealed unit and then labour involves taking out elec window motor as well....

I can live with as is but if anyone has a better idea (or a s/h lock) it would help.
It is drivers side rear.

I'll see what we got at the unit mate the window takes 10 mins to take out
